Norwich & Norfolk Eco Awards 10th Anniversary

The Norwich and Norfolk Eco Awards celebrated their 10th Anniversary last month with a wonderful awards evening at St Andrews Hall in the city.

It was a pleasure to attend the awards and photograph the winners, as well as hear an interesting talk from TV star Karren Cannard (The Rubbish Diet) about the difference we can all make.

The scheme, collaboratively organised by Norwich City Council and Norfolk County Council, annually celebrates outstanding environmental achievements.
Originally, the awards were only open to organisations, however, the categories have since broadened and prizes are now given for outstanding eco-food producer and eco-home.
Applicants in all categories must be able to demonstrate a passion for environmentally friendly practice and energy efficiency.

Meet The Buyer | Offshore Wind

A successful ‘Meet the buyer’ event was held at Norwich City FC last week – a chance for Norfolk businesses to be part of the huge Norfolk Vanguard offshore wind project.
Using local suppliers is key to the development and smooth implementation of the wind farm, keeping money in the local economy and building upon the expertise and infrastructure that is already here.

From my point of view, it’s interesting to hear about the future of wind energy and how the county is tooling itself up to be one of the leaders in this industry.
