For the majority of people in East Anglia the presence of Anglia One in our skies is a luxury that we have come to expect and as time moves on we begin to rely even more on the service and support the East Anglian Air Ambulance charity provide.
Few residents living in a hectic city or quiet suburb realise the work that goes on behind closed doors to keep the Air Ambulance running. It is entirely dependent on
fund-raising and contributions from members of the public as it receives no government or National Lottery funding.

For the crew of Anglia One the day begins early, arriving at the hanger, getting kitted up, checking the helicopter, debriefing and signing on, ready for a hard days work, never really knowing what is going to turn up next.

As well as providing an interesting journey into the daily lives of the crew of Anglia One, this personal body of work was designed to create a lasting record of the work that the crew undertake, capturing rare moments of tranquillity until that emergency call comes through and the adrenalin begins pumping.

For 18 months I had been given access to Anglia One, joining the crew on their daily routines. One moment enjoying a cup of tea and in the next breath landing in a field in the pouring rain, hotfooting it to the scene.

Throughout this exhibition you will experience life as part of Anglia One, where I have recorded just how determined, skilled and passionate the crew are. Many of the photographs observe the pressures of life working as part of the emergency services, where time is of the
essence. You will join the crew on their daily routines and
experience the highs, the lows and those times when words simply mean very little.

My admiration for the crew has increased every moment I spent with them and I know that without their expertise many people would not be here today.
